ABOUT THE SHOW…
‘A Brand New World’ is an original musical, set in 1941 New York as the Balbier family is just arriving in America, having escaped Hitler on the last train out of Nuremberg, Germany. The family moves into 1795 Riverside Drive with Uncle Eddie & Aunt Mary, who care for Stephanie like their own daughter, while helping her parents settle in to their new American life. As the backdrop of war rages on, we see her at age 15 making her way in a new school, with a new language, and new friendships to make that are about to change her world forever. Over the course of the next 4 years of the war, we see three best friends come of age and enter the workforce as they send their young men off to war. By 1945, everything has changed, nothing will ever be the same again…who knows what the future holds?!?
Our Summer Immersion Program (“SIP”) is a 3 Week – 17 Session Theatre Training Program that is an immersion into a professional summer production of Three Act Theatre Co. By audition only, a select cast of students receive Triple Threat Training, designed to offer technique training for the singer/dancer/actor that will prepare them for musical theatre auditions & performances in their future, allowing them the room to reach their own individual next level of mastery. Within each discipline there will be attention to the development of character and acting choices that are living inside of the music, words, and movement.
This BY AUDITION ONLY program offers the very unique opportunity to train side by side with adult company members & guest artists. They then perform with them in the world premiere production of the new musical ‘A Brand New World’ developed by Three Act Theatre Company. During the first two weeks of the immersion program they have morning classes/training, building performance skills in singing, acting & dancing. In the afternoon students have the opportunity to learn from and work along side the adult Three Act Theatre Company members in rehearsal for an original musical written expressly for TATC which incorporates adult company members & students actors into the same production – working side by side on stage!
HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT…
Tickets sales at the show & student tuition only help cover a portion of the expense involved in producing a production/program like this. Rehearsal space & theatre rental costs increased every year, not to mention the expense of scenery, costumes & lighting – it all adds up quickly. Please consider making a generous tax-deductible gift to help bring this new story to life on a NYC stage!…and succeed in continuing our vision to bring generations of artists and audiences together through enriching arts opportunities…teaching us, expanding our hearts and leaving us forever changed.
